Jerry, one of the things I especially love about your poetry in the imagery that it evokes. Granted, I'm a visual person. Still, I 'see' your poems in 3D and Technicolor. Here are both parts of your poem. Do save it. Keep a journal or something. You're good now and will only get better as you continue to write.
I woke this morning to see the sun rise
into a colorless sky
I also watched the sunrise
through ice hanging down near by
in there the colors were many
and the light danced all around..so pretty
Is there a lesson.......a message to be found
what if we paint our life
with a different light
like through the ice.......that was hanging down"
